18th Cent. White Salt-Glazed Tureen, Cover, and Underdish

White salt-glazed stoneware tureen, cover, and underdish, England, c. 1765-70, probably Staffordshire. Oval shape press-molded with scroll border cartouches of dots, stars, and trelliswork alternating with bands of basketweave, urn finial, C-scroll handles and grotesque animal masks and paw feet. Chappell Collection stamp underside. Dimensions: Tureen with lid: 11"h x 13"w; Underdish: 17"l x 13"w. Literature: Identical illustrated in Staffordshire Salt-glazed Stoneware, by Mountford, illustration 65. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S $70 plus a 1.5% replacement cost insurance fee. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
