British Adams Patent Revolver Model 1872 .450/455 Caliber

Adams' Patent British Model 1872 .450/455 caliber service revolver, as was carried in the Zulu War of 1879 and elsewhere. This revolver has the British broad arrow and WD stamped on the frame and matching serial numbers 7862. It has the acceptance date of 6.75 stamped on the left side of the frame next to the grip. The gun is extensively proofed on the barrel and each chamber of the cylinder. The wooden grips are finely checkered, and the pistol has a mount on the butt for a lanyard ring. The gun retains about 50% of its blue finish. Size: 12 1/4 inches long with a 6-inch barrel. This is the classic British Service revolver of the era of the Zulu War, the Afghan Campaign of 1878, and the Egypt Campaigns of 1882 through 1890. There were only about 4000 of all variations of this revolver manufactured for the British Army. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Condition:

About excellent condition, with the gun retaining about 50% of its original blue finish. The bore is excellent. The markings are sharp and clear, and the action is excellent.
