Gustav Stickley oak sideboard #814. Bears darkened illegible label on backside. Red Stickley mark on inside center drawer. Dimensions: 48"h x 56.12"w x 22"d. Gustav Stickley was born to German immigrant parents. He and his brothers started a furniture company in Pennsylvania. After trips to England and Europe, he embraced the Arts and Crafts Movement for its simplicity of construction and finishes. In 1901, he started the Craftsman Magazine with a Syracuse University professor. He then changed the name of his company to The Craftsman Workshops.
