Napoleon Document and His Silver Spoon

Framed handwritten letter from Napoleon and a small silver spoon. The spoon having the figure of Napoleon at tip contained within a laurel wreath surmounted by an "N". An eagle with spread wings above the bowl and "N" marked on bowl verso. The letter reads (English), "The citizen Cottot who will give you this note, (_______) citizen, offers to make some advances to the public treasury, I salute you, Bonaparte." Dimensions: (sight) 7.75"h x 6"w; (overall) 16.75"h x 13"w. Spoon: 5.25"l, 0.65 ozt.. Provenance: Family descent. Lot is accompanied by personal letter detailing the acquisition. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

Foxing, toning and creases secondary to prior folding. Did not examine out of frame.
