Remington Model 1858 Army Revolver

A very nice Remington Model 1858 Army Revolver, in .44 caliber percussion, serial number 25302, dating from about 1861. It has the inspector’s stamp “B” on the trigger guard. The barrel and loading lever have been skillfully shortened to 5 ¼ inches long, with a replacement blade front sight. Dimensions: (as configured) Barrel is 5.25 inches long, and the pistol is 11.75 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 

Condition:

Overall good condition, with a tight, crisp action. The gun is dirty overall, with traces of light pitting in a number of places, and a few tiny spots of heavier pitting. The grips have a couple of minor scratches, and there is a tiny chip missing at the toe of the butt.
