Springfield 1855 Pistol Carbine with Stock

US Model 1855 Springfield Pistol-carbine with Maynard Tape Primer, date 1856, complete with shoulder stock. 1856. A rare and absolutely complete 1855 pistol carbine, all original, dated on the lockplate, and 1855 on the barrel tang, with clear cartouche on the shoulder stock. The gun is complete in every way, and the lock functions smoothly. Dimensions: 29 inches long overall. The barrel is 12 inches long, and the pistol without shoulder stock is 18 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. 

Condition:

The gun is very good, with sharp marks on the lock plate. The tape primer door is pitted, and the catch is not working, The barrel has some tool marks at the breech, possibly from someone removing the breech for cleaning. The stock is good, but there are no visible cartouches on the pistol, although the cartouche outline on the shoulder stock is very strong. There is a spare hammer return spring inside the muzzle. The brass is nicely toned.
