Two Loet Vanderveen (1921-2015) silver cheetah sculptures. Stretching cheetah marked, "LOET copyright symbol 3/250 .999 FINE 45 ozt". Sitting cheetah marked, "LOET copyright symbol 3/250 .999 FINE 52 ozt." Dimensions: (stretching) 7"h x 7.5"l; (sitting) 5"h x 7.5"l. Vanderveen was born in Holland where he developed his love and study of animals as he lived near a zoo. He made his way to New York where he studied under Fong Chow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and learned the art of glazes and patinas. He moved to Big Sur, California and continued his work in bronze animal figures excelling in both the patinas as well as the naturalistic poses of the animals. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
