British 1889 Cavalry Saber

A fairly scarce British model 1899 saber, in an earlier pattern scabbard. The blade has a number of issue stamps, including one that may be the Indian 34th or Poona Horse. The guard and scabbard are all steel, with a hard rubber grip. The blade is quite stiff, and has been service sharpened. Dimensions: the blade is 33.5 inches long and the sword is 43.75 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

The hilt and scabbard are in very good condition. The blade is service sharpened, and is very good on one side. The other side has extensive staining, with minor rust, and a few small patches of pitting. Fit between the guard and scabbard throat is a little uneven, but the sword fits well in the scabbard.
