Wilson & Evans San Francisco Derringer

This is an extremely scarce small derringer pistol marked, “Wilson & Evans” on the barrel. The firm of Wilson & Evans was in operation for only one year on Clay Street and Sacramento Streets in San Francisco, from 1863 to 1864. The gun is a smaller sized derringer pistol, of .41 caliber, with a nicely checkered stock,, engraved lock, trigger guard and at the breech,  and German silver mounts. This gun is illustrated in Mr. Shelton’s book on California Gunsmiths. Dimensions: 6 inches long overall, with a 2.5 inch barrel. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.

Condition:

There are minor signs of use on the stock, and minor pitting at the muzzle. The mainspring is a little weak, but still functions.
